What is Golden Lynx?

Golden Lynx is an exemplary, amiable representation of the UC Merced student body. They represent their peers at various campus functions and support special events hosted by the Chancellor and Division of External Relations.

What does a member of Golden Lynx do? 

  • Golden Lynx represent UC Merced as a student ambassador
  • Share their journey as UC Merced student
  • Meet, greet, and guide guests at campus related events
  • Create meaningful relationships with all constituents
  • Assist with the efforts of External Relations
  • Work alongside staff and peers during special events

Golden Lynx students have participated in events, such as: Foundation Board of Trustee Meetings, Chancellor’s Speaker Series, VIP Visits and Meetings, Community Town Halls, Special Lunches, Dinners, and Receptions, and more!

Golden Lynx students develop a range of transferable skills, such as public speaking, communication, and leadership. As a Golden Lynx ambassador, you will strengthen the quality of your professional resume, expand your personal network. Students also have the ability to make a meaningful impact, attend exclusive university events, and participate in special projects. Golden Lynx students will also be offered:

How To Join the Program     

The application process occurs once per academic. The selection of Golden Lynx ambassadors is based on availability  and willingness to serve, knowledge of the university, leadership, campus involvement, academic background, poise, and interpersonal and communication skills. Applications for the 2024-2025 academic year are currently being accepted!
